Qualifications Required:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 5 years or more
Job Responsibilities:
- Interpret welding process specifications
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
- Examine welds for compliance with standards
- Operate flame-cutting, metal shaping, and bending machines
- Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
- Use oxygen arc cutting equipment (AOC)
- Determine weldability of materials
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
- Fabricate or repair metal parts using set-up welding machines
- Bond metal using brazing or soldering machines
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding equipment
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Outdoors, confined spaces, dusty, hot, noisy
- Setting: Various locations, remote, industrial, manufacturing
- Physical demands: Fast-paced, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, sitting, standing for extended periods, lifting up to 23 kg
