Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre is a community-based organization providing culturally appropriate programs and services to support Indigenous individuals and families in urban settings.

Job Details:

  • Location: Thunder Bay, ON P7A 4P7
  • Workplace: On site
  • Salary: $50,000 annually / 35 hours per week
  • Hours: Full time
  • Employment Type: Permanent
  • Schedule: Morning, Day, Evening, Flexible hours (09:00 to 17:00)
  • Start Date: As soon as possible

Qualifications Required:

  • Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Food Safety Certificate

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reports and case histories
  • Perform administrative and office tasks
  • Assess client skills and development needs
  • Develop and implement community services
  • Conduct housekeeping and food preparation
  • Resolve conflicts and manage events
  • Liaise with social service and healthcare providers
  • Maintain program statistics
  • Screen, recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and staff
  • Establish registry of special needs support workers
  • Mentor and support clients
  • Offer services in corrections, social adjustment, and socio-economic support
