Overview:

Work Environment:
- Dusty, outdoors, dirty, hot, and noisy conditions may be expected.
Responsibilities:
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems
- Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturer specifications
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed
Credentials:
- Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification
- Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification
- Truck and Transport Mechanic Red Seal Endorsement
Experience and Specialization:
- Specialization in areas such as:
- Engine repair
- Electrical and electronic systems
- Diesel engines
- Diagnostics
- Brake systems
- Truck-trailer repair
- Hydraulic systems
- Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
Additional Information:
- Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract) required
- Transportation/Travel Information: Must have own transportation and a valid driver’s license; ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle
