Qualifications Required:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: Experience is an asset; Driver’s License (Class 1 or A) and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials across short-haul, long-haul, national, and international routes.
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy when required.
- Oversee vehicle condition by inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Perform tarping and ensure the safety and security of all cargo.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including driver logbooks, bills of lading, inspection reports (pre/en-route/post-trip), trans-border documents, and accident reports.
- Use communication systems and trip recorders (on-board computers).
Working Conditions:
- Physically demanding work involving weight handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Requires willingness to travel for extended periods and overnight.
- Must provide own steel-toed safety boots and a cellular phone.
- Security requirements include a criminal record check, driving record check (abstract), and drug test.
