Requirements:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a driving position
Responsibilities:
- Calculate fixed assets, depreciation, and the cost of truck repairs and new parts as needed
- Plan or adjust routes using GPS equipment or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
- Provide professionalism in customer service
- Arrange travel itineraries and make reservations
- Load and unload goods and obtain special permits for international transport
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods
- Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
- Perform preventive maintenance and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
- Ensure safety and security of cargo, including tarping and transporting dangerous goods
