Job Details:

  • Salary: $26.00 to $35.00 hourly (to be negotiated) / 30 to 60 hours per week

Qualifications:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Responsibilities:

  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Load and unload goods, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Perform brake adjustments and conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.

Credentials:

  • Certificates and Licences:
    • AZ class license
    • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
    • Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate
    • Defensive Driving Course
    • Professional Driver Improvement Certificate

Additional Information:

  • Transportation/Travel Experience: Local, long-haul, national, provincial/territorial, and international travel may be required.
  • Work Conditions: Attention to detail, handling heavy loads (more than 45 kg / 100 lbs), and performing repetitive tasks. Overtime may be required, and the role involves sitting for extended periods.
