Qualifications:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Responsibilities:
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Load and unload goods, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Perform brake adjustments and conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Credentials:
- Certificates and Licences:
- AZ class license
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
- Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate
- Defensive Driving Course
- Professional Driver Improvement Certificate
Additional Information:
- Transportation/Travel Experience: Local, long-haul, national, provincial/territorial, and international travel may be required.
- Work Conditions: Attention to detail, handling heavy loads (more than 45 kg / 100 lbs), and performing repetitive tasks. Overtime may be required, and the role involves sitting for extended periods.
