Job Details:

  • Location: Pickering, ON
  • Salary: $23.00 to $26.00 hourly (to be negotiated) / 40 hours per week
  • Type of Employment: Permanent, Full-time
  • Shift: Overtime, Morning

Qualifications:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products.
  • Provide professionalism in customer service.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  • Load and unload goods.
  • Use maps and other trip planning aids.
  • Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and any problems.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
  • Ensure safety and security of cargo through tarping.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.

Credentials:

  • Certificates and Licences:
    • Class 5/5F/G Licence (for cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles)
    • Forklift Operator Certification

Additional Information:

  • Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation and valid driver’s license required; ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
  • Work Conditions: Attention to detail, tight deadlines, work under pressure, physically demanding, handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs), and overtime may be required.
