Qualifications Required:
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
- Experience: 5 years or more
- Credentials:
- Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification
- Motor Vehicle Inspector Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
Job Responsibilities:
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts of commercial transport truck systems
- Inspect and test mechanical units and motors
- Review work orders and perform diagnostics
- Estimate parts and labor costs
- Perform scheduled maintenance
- Advise customers on repairs and future needs
- Coach and instruct apprentices
Working Conditions:
- On-site only; no remote option
- Environment: Dusty, dirty, noisy
- Requires standing for extended periods and use of personal tools (e.g., steel-toed boots)
- Must have own transportation and valid driver’s license
- Driving record check required
