Job Details

  • Workplace: On the road (frequent or constant travel)
  • Salary: 65,000 to 85,000 annually (negotiable) / 40–50 hours per week
  • Hours: Morning, Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift; Overtime available
  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
  • Schedule: Variable shifts with travel

Qualifications Required

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Will train

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test cable signals and related equipment
  • Repair cable signals
  • Diagnose and locate equipment faults; adjust, replace, or repair telecommunications equipment
  • Install, arrange, remove, and maintain telephone equipment, wiring, and hardware
  • Repair or replace defective telephone equipment
  • Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or support structures
  • Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets
  • Install cable modems and software for Internet access
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers
