SickKids is a leading pediatric hospital dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare to children and their families. We are currently seeking a Specialist Physician to join our esteemed team and contribute to our mission of improving child health.
Key Responsibilities
As a Specialist Physician, your primary duties will include:
- Diagnosing diseases and physiological disorders in pediatric patients.
- Conducting medical research on human disorders and developing preventive or curative methods.
- Prescribing medication and treatment plans.
- Referring patients for surgical procedures as necessary.
- Preparing and presenting research papers for publication.
- Studying the nature, causes, and development of diseases, including structural and functional changes.
- Acting as a consultant to other physicians and healthcare professionals.
- Ordering laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
- Experience: 5 years or more of relevant experience in a medical specialization, particularly in pediatrics or genetics and molecular biology.
- Credentials: Must have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification and licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
