Qualifications Required:
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma
- Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Job Responsibilities:
- Install built-up roofing systems using asphalt saturated felts, hot asphalt, and gravel
- Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles, shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles
- Install roofing tiles and single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
- Repair or replace shingles, shakes, single-ply roofing systems, and other roofing systems
- Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools
- Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
Working Conditions:
- Work site environment: At heights, noisy, dusty, dangerous, outdoors
- Work setting: Various locations
- Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling, hand-eye coordination, handling heavy loads, large workload, repetitive tasks, work under pressure
