Northeast Engineering and Development Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Administrator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This includes calculating wages, preparing paycheques, managing deductions (taxes, union dues, garnishments, insurance, and pension plans), reconciling bank statements, and preparing various reports. You will also assist with other human resource duties as needed. This position requires on-site work in Bolton, ON.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate and prepare employee paycheques.
- Prepare accurate statements of earnings, detailing gross and net pay, along with all deductions.
- Maintain and update employee financial data securely and efficiently.
- Assist with personnel selection processes.
- Prepare and balance period-end payroll reports, reconciling them with bank statements.
- Produce and distribute monthly payroll statements.
- Manage and submit documentation for employee benefits (pension plans, leaves, share savings, employment insurance, and medical insurance).
- Communicate effectively with employees regarding payroll and benefit plans.
- Track employee attendance, leave, and overtime using manual and computerized systems to ensure accurate pay and benefit calculations.
- Prepare T4 statements and other required year-end reporting documents.
Qualifications:
- College diploma or equivalent experience.
- 1-7 months of experience in payroll administration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Experience with payroll software [(Specify software if applicable)] is an asset.
