Qualifications Required:
- Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience
- Experience: Asset (not mandatory)
- Credentials:
- Machinist Trade Certification
- Machinist Red Seal Endorsement
- Tool and Die Maker Red Seal Certificate
Job Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
- Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
- Verify dimensions of machined parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and verniers
- Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools
- Verify product dimensions for accuracy and conformance to specifications
Experience and Specialization:
- Measuring Tools: Micrometers, calipers, gauges, verniers
- Equipment: Boring machines, broaching machines, drill presses, engine lathes, milling machines, sawing machines, CNC machines
- Software: Computer-aided design (CAD)
Working Conditions:
- On-site work only, no remote option
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods
- Physically demanding, weight handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Must have own tools (steel-toed safety boots)
- Requires own transportation and valid driver’s licence
