Job Overview:

  • Salary: $26.00 to $35.00 hourly (To be negotiated)

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables
  • Repair machine tools and parts
  • Set up and adjust production machinery/tools
  • Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerances
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
  • Verify dimensions of machined parts using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
  • Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools

Credentials Required:

  • Machinist Trade Certification
  • Tool and Die Maker Trade Certification
  • Machinist Red Seal Endorsement

Experience and Specialization:

  • Proficient with measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and verniers
  • Specialized machining processes including Plasma ARC, Laser beam, and Water jet
  • Experience with boring machines, drill presses, engine lathes, milling machines, and other machining tools

Additional Information:

  • Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract) required
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s license required
  • Work Conditions: Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines; physically demanding role requiring attention to detail and the ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
