Requirements:
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
- Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years in machining
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables
- Repair machine tools and parts
- Set up and adjust production machinery/tools
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerances
- Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances
- Verify dimensions of machined parts using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
- Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools
- Ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
Credentials:
- Machinist Trade Certification required
Equipment and Machinery Experience:
- Automatic lathes, cylindrical grinders, electrical discharge machine (EDM), honing machines, milling machines, surface grinders, universal grinders
- Familiarity with computer numerical control (CNC) machines and computer-aided design (CAD) is essential
Work Conditions:
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Requires standing for extended periods and handling weights up to 50 lbs
