Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments
- Perform routine clerical duties
- Prepare and submit reports
- Ensure accuracy of completed time sheets, payroll, and other summaries
- Maintain work records and logs
- Monitor personnel workloads and locations
- Perform general office duties
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Recruit and hire staff
- Co-ordinate traffic flow of supplies
- Compile worksheets and specifications of orders
- Prepare and maintain progress and other reports
- Project management
- Provide customer service
- Train workers in duties and policies
- Arrange training for staff
- Co-ordinate, assign, and review work
- Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies
- Advise vehicle operators of traffic and other problems
- Communicate with ships, aircraft, and other remote operations
- Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders
- Dispatch personnel as required by emergency situations
- Follow up on issues with work orders
- Keep track of shipments
- Knowledge of cross-border dispatching regulations and practices
- Process and transmit information and instructions to co-ordinate the activities of vehicle operators and crews using dispatching equipment
- Respond to urgent calls from individuals who find themselves in life-threatening situations and require assistance
- Organize and maintain inventory
- Establish work schedules and procedures
- Contact customers to deliver requested wakeup calls
- Plan, organize, and oversee operational logistics of the organization
