Salary: $135,000 to $140,000 annually (To be negotiated) / 40 hours per week

Education Requirements:

  • Earned doctorate degree in law

Experience Requirements:

  • 2 to less than 3 years of legal experience

Work Environment:

  • On-site work only, no remote options
  • Private practice setting

Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and related matters
  • Perform administrative functions related to the practice of law
  • Represent clients’ cases before courts, tribunals, and boards
  • Draft legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion
  • Negotiate civil dispute settlements
  • Represent corporate interests in legal matters
  • Offer mediation, conciliation, and arbitration services
  • Supervise professional, paralegal, and support staff, as well as articling students
  • Research legal precedents and gather evidence
  • Advise clients on legal proceedings

Supervision:

  • Supervise 1 to 2 staff members

Credentials:

  • Membership in a provincial or territorial law society

Experience and Specialization:

  • Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Windows, and MS Word
