Job Details:

  • Location: Scarborough, ON
  • Salary: $27.00 to $46.00 hourly (To be negotiated)
  • Type of Employment: Permanent employment, Full-time
  • Hours of Work: 35 to 44 hours per week; Day, Weekend, Early Morning, and Morning shifts
  • Start Date: May 13, 2025

Qualifications Required:

  • Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate
  • Experience: 5 years or more

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct grounds maintenance
  • Organize and direct the construction of decks and decorative or retaining walls
  • Plan, manage, and supervise landscape construction work
  • Maintain work records and logs
  • Read blueprints and drawings
  • Repair and maintain equipment
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Supervise nursery and greenhouse workers
  • Establish work schedules and procedures

Supervision:

  • Supervise 1 to 10 people, depending on the project

Credentials:

  • Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) certification
  • Experience with various equipment, including backhoe, chain saw, forklift, front-end loader, and more

Work Conditions:

  • Work environment is outdoors, potentially dangerous, at heights, and hot
  • Requires handling heavy loads and physical demands, including standing for extended periods and manual dexterity
