About the Employer:
Twig Fertility is seeking a skilled and dedicated Laboratory Technician to join their team. As a private clinical laboratory specializing in fertility services, Twig Fertility is committed to providing high-quality medical laboratory testing to support patient care and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood, tissue, or other samples from patients accurately.
- Document observations on patients’ specimens and maintain accurate records.
- Examine the results of tests to ensure reliability and accuracy.
- Log patient samples and prepare them for testing in a timely manner.
- Set up and calibrate medical laboratory equipment for optimal performance.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and sample analyses according to established protocols.
- Clean and maintain the medical laboratory and laboratory equipment regularly.
- Discard specimens in accordance with established safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program lasting 1 to 2 years.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a medical laboratory setting.
- Language: Proficiency in English is required.
Workplace Information:
- This position requires on-site work; remote work is not an option.
Work Conditions:
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess hand-eye coordination and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Physical demands include standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
