Job Details

  • Location: Thunder Bay, ON
  • Workplace Information: On site (no remote work option)
  • Salary: $60,000 to $65,000 annually (to be negotiated)
  • Hours: 35 hours per week

Qualifications

  • Education: College/CEGEP
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
  • Certificates: First Aid Certificate

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer staff consultation and grievance procedures
  • Coordinate HR department activities to meet organizational goals
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate HR policies and programs
  • Review HR projects for legal compliance
  • Advise managers and employees on HR policies, benefit programs, and collective agreements
  • Plan and implement recruitment strategies
  • Research and prepare job descriptions and salary scales
  • Administer employment equity and other HR programs
  • Manage contracts and employee appraisal programs
  • Manage training and development strategies
  • Oversee analysis of employee data and information
  • Research employee benefits and health and safety practices
  • Oversee communication strategies and report preparation
  • Advise senior management
  • Respond to employee questions and complaints
  • Hire, train, and supervise staff (more than 20 people)
  • Liaise with management, union officials, and HR consultants
  • Propose improvements to methods, systems, and procedures
  • Evaluate work environments and programs for health and safety
