Qualifications Required:

  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma
  • Experience: Will train

Job Responsibilities:

  • Apply fertilizers and hoeing techniques between rows
  • Clean crops and clear fields of wood and stones
  • Divide harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots
  • Perform greenhouse cleaning
  • Hand-harvest vegetables and pack fruits and vegetables
  • Pick row and orchard crops
  • Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops
  • Remove suckers and water sprouts manually
  • Tie and secure plants, perform weeding, and clean work areas
  • Harvest crops and load/unload crates, supplies, and farm produce
  • Examine product quality and readiness for market

Working Conditions:

  • On-site work only, no remote option
  • Outdoor environment: wet/damp, odours, dusty, hot, dirty, all weather conditions
  • Physically demanding tasks including repetitive work, heavy load handling (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs), bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and walking
  • Requires gloves and steel-toed safety boots
  • Own transportation required
