Qualifications Required:
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma
- Experience: Will train
Job Responsibilities:
- Apply fertilizers and hoeing techniques between rows
- Clean crops and clear fields of wood and stones
- Divide harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots
- Perform greenhouse cleaning
- Hand-harvest vegetables and pack fruits and vegetables
- Pick row and orchard crops
- Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops
- Remove suckers and water sprouts manually
- Tie and secure plants, perform weeding, and clean work areas
- Harvest crops and load/unload crates, supplies, and farm produce
- Examine product quality and readiness for market
Working Conditions:
- On-site work only, no remote option
- Outdoor environment: wet/damp, odours, dusty, hot, dirty, all weather conditions
- Physically demanding tasks including repetitive work, heavy load handling (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs), bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for extended periods, and walking
- Requires gloves and steel-toed safety boots
- Own transportation required
