Key Responsibilities
As a Food Service Worker, your primary duties will include:
- Bringing clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving areas and setting tables.
- Carrying and replacing linen as needed.
- Cleaning and sanitizing items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units.
- Clearing and cleaning tables, trays, and chairs.
- Loading bus pans and trays and operating dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
- Replenishing condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas.
- Sanitizing and washing dishes and other items by hand, including scouring pots and pans.
- Keeping records of the quantities of food used and packaging take-out food.
- Preparing, heating, and finishing simple food items.
- Serving customers at counters or buffet tables and taking their orders.
- Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
- Handling and storing cleaning products safely.
Qualifications
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in food service is an asset.
Skills Required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach.
- Reliability and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and lift weights up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
