Qualifications Required:
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
- Specialization: Tomato crops
Job Responsibilities:
- Divide harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots
- Perform greenhouse cleaning
- Remove suckers and water sprouts manually
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops
- Detect diseases and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry
- Examine product quality and readiness for market
- Hand-harvest vegetables
- Grade fruits and vegetables by size, shape, colour, and volume
- Sort and pack fruits and vegetables
Working Conditions:
- On-site work only, no remote option
- Hot, noisy greenhouse environment with crop harvesting at heights
- Fast-paced, physically demanding work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling
- Handling heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Requires steel-toed safety boots
- Bondable, attention to detail, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, ability to distinguish colours
