Qualifications Required:
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience
- Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
- Transportation: Valid driver’s licence
Job Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment
- Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
- Interpret welding process specifications
- Install door, window, and other hardware
- Determine weldability of materials
- Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air)
- Fabricate or repair metal parts and products using welding machines
- Examine welds to ensure standards and specifications are met
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
- Verify machined parts and product dimensions using precision measuring instruments
