Qualifications Required:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Job Responsibilities:
- Estimate supplies, food items, and labour costs
- Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
- Supervise chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff
- Create new recipes and plan menus ensuring quality standards
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation
- Prepare and cook meals, including specialty foods and banquet dishes
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
- Direct food preparation and cooking activities across restaurants
- Prepare dishes for customers with allergies or intolerances
- Recruit, hire, and train staff in food preparation and handling
- Lead and instruct individuals in kitchen operations
