Qualifications Required:
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience
- Experience: 5 years or more
Job Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints to determine work requirements
- Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro‑mechanical equipment
- Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts
- Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components
- Weld or braze components
- Perform machining to recondition or modify parts
- Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
- Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance
