Job Details:

- Salary: $19.21 to $25.00 hourly (to be negotiated) / 30 to 40 hours per week

Qualifications Needed:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a related field
Responsibilities:
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Expertise in mountain driving and professionalism in customer service.
- Arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations.
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy in lighter, special-purpose trucks.
- Load and unload goods; obtain special permits for transporting cargo on international routes.
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Oversee the condition of the vehicle, including inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Pay and receive payments for goods; perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
- Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
- Perform preventive maintenance and record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo; transport and handle dangerous goods.
Credentials:
- Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses:
- Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Experience and Specialization:
- Transportation/Travel Experience:
- International, local, long-haul, provincial/territorial, and regional travel experience.
Work Conditions:
- Security and Safety: Criminal record check required.
- Transportation/Travel Information:
- Must be willing to travel cross-border, for extended periods, internationally, and overnight.
- Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs), large workload, overtime required, and physically demanding tasks.
