Job Details:

  • Location: 264 County Road 7, Picton, ON K0K 2T0
  • Salary: $23.00 to $26.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 40 to 44 hours per week
  • Type of Employment: Seasonal, Full-time (Day, Night, Weekend)

Qualifications Necessary:

  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years in a cooking role

Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Coordinate special events and determine food portion sizes and costs.
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas for compliance with safety standards.
  • Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling practices.
  • Order supplies and equipment for kitchen operations.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
  • Manage overall kitchen operations effectively.

Experience and Specialization:
Candidates should have knowledge in food preparation and safety, including:

  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Food Safety Certificate

Work Conditions:
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. The environment can be fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods and the ability to work under pressure.

Candidates should possess a client-focused attitude, dependability, flexibility, initiative, and good judgment. Organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
