Job Overview:
As a Lead Construction Carpenter, you will be responsible for various tasks, including fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware. You will also prepare layouts according to building codes, read and interpret blueprints, and maintain and renovate wooden structures in a variety of settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware.
- Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes, utilizing precise measuring tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made from wood, substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect wall and roof systems.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of relevant work experience in carpentry.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
- Fall Arrest Protection Training Course is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with trades and clients.
