Job Details:

  • Location: 2068 Piper Lane, London, ON N5V 3N6
  • Salary: $20.00 to $34.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 40 to 60 hours per week

Qualifications Necessary:

  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Experience: Will train

Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
  • Repair machine tools and parts as necessary.
  • Set up and adjust production machinery and tools.
  • Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerances.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
  • Set up and operate both conventional and computer-controlled machine tools.
  • Ensure accuracy and conformance to specifications in all products.

Credentials:

  • Machinist Trade Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate

Experience and Specialization:
Candidates should have experience with measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and verniers, as well as familiarity with equipment like automatic lathes, boring machines, cylindrical grinders, milling machines, and tool grinders.


Work Conditions:
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely. The environment is fast-paced, requiring attention to detail and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including standing for extended periods and weight handling (up to 9 kg or 20 lbs).
