Qualifications Required:
- Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience
- Experience: 5 years or more
- Credentials: Machinist Trade Certification, Tool and Die Maker Trade Certification, Machinist Red Seal Endorsement, Tool and Die Maker Red Seal Certificate, Certification by a provincial/territorial association
Job Responsibilities:
- Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables
- Set up and adjust production machinery/tools
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
- Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments
- Document and report deviations from specifications
- Maintain inspection records and complete reports
- Verify dimensions of machined parts using micrometers and calipers
- Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools
- Ensure product accuracy and conformance to specifications
Working Conditions:
- On-site work only, no remote option
- Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- Standing for extended periods
- Physically demanding tasks requiring attention to detail
- Own transportation required (public transit not available)
- Must provide own tools/equipment: steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles
