Qualifications Required:
- Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate
- Experience: 5 years or more
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare layouts using measuring tools in conformance with building codes
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials
- Build foundations, install beams, lay subflooring, erect walls and roofs
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Instruct apprentices and supervise 1 to 2 workers
Working Conditions:
- Environment: At heights, confined spaces, noisy, dusty, outdoors, hot, extremely cold
- Physically demanding with large workload
- Requires bending, crouching, kneeling, and combination of sitting, standing, walking
- Criminal record check required
- Must have own transportation and valid driver’s licence
- Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
