Qualifications:
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Responsibilities:
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, and mouldings
- Instruct apprentices and estimate costs and materials
- Maintain, repair, and renovate wooden structures
Work Conditions:
- Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in potentially noisy and dusty environments
- Physically demanding tasks, including handling heavy loads
Tools and Equipment:
- Must provide own tools, safety equipment, and gear, including steel-toed boots, hard hat, and safety glasses
