Job Details:

  • Location: Brampton, ON
  • Salary: $36.00 hourly / 35 hours per week
  • Type of Employment: Permanent, Full-time
  • Hours of Work: Day, Evening, Morning
  • Start Date: As soon as possible

Qualifications Needed:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in carpentry

Work Setting:

  • On the road; work locations may vary, requiring frequent or constant travel.
  • Work environment may be noisy, dusty, and primarily outdoors.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare estimates of labor and material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites and instruct apprentices
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems

    • Physically demanding role involving bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
