Qualifications Necessary
- Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years
- Experience: Experience in bookkeeping is an asset
- Languages: English
Responsibilities of the Job
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
- Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
- Post journal entries and prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports
- Prepare tax returns and trial balance of books
- Reconcile accounts as necessary
Experience and Specialization
- Proficient in computer and technology knowledge, including MS Excel, MS Word, QuickBooks, and MS Office
Work Environment
- Work Conditions: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; attention to detail is crucial; ability to work under pressure
