Qualifications Necessary

  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years
  • Experience: Experience in bookkeeping is an asset
  • Languages: English

Responsibilities of the Job

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Post journal entries and prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports
  • Prepare tax returns and trial balance of books
  • Reconcile accounts as necessary

Experience and Specialization

  • Proficient in computer and technology knowledge, including MS Excel, MS Word, QuickBooks, and MS Office

  • Work Conditions: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; attention to detail is crucial; ability to work under pressure
