Qualifications Necessary
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Experience: 5 years or more in accounting
- Credentials: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
Responsibilities of the Job
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and internal control
- Prepare financial information for individuals, departments, or companies
- Prepare reports and audit findings
- Make recommendations concerning cash management, insurance coverage, investment planning, retirement, and estate planning
- Prepare financial statements and reports
- Conduct field audits of businesses for compliance with the Income Tax Act and other statutory requirements
- Develop and maintain cost findings, reporting, and internal control procedures
- Prepare income tax returns from accounting records
- Review financial services and institutions for compliance with governing legislation
- Analyze financial documents and reports
- Assist in the planning and execution of financial statement audits
- Keep financial records and maintain various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Oversee payroll administration
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
