Qualifications Required:
- Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year; requires student status and full-time enrollment.
- Experience: Experience is an asset; requires First Aid, CPR, and Food Allergy/Anaphylaxis training.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist Early Childhood Educators in implementing programs that promote child development.
- Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
- Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
- Guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
- Prepare snacks and arrange furniture for lunch and rest periods.
- Assist supervisors in keeping records and maintaining licensing regulation standards.
- Maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Working Conditions:
- Noisy, air-conditioned, non-smoking childcare centre environment.
- Physically demanding role involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Requires own transportation or access to public transit.
- Security requirements include a Vulnerable Sector Check and immunization records.
