Qualifications Required:
- Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university diploma (1–2 years)
- Experience: 5 years or more
- Security: Basic security clearance, criminal record check
- Transportation: Valid driver’s licence, own vehicle (public transportation not available)
Job Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints to determine dimensions and material requirements
- Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings
- Participate in field surveys, inspections, and technical investigations
- Prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates
- Draft engineering designs and drawings
- Prepare project schedules
- Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, and testing of construction materials
Experience and Specialization:
- Tools & Software: GPS navigation equipment, AutoCAD, MS Excel, Outlook, Project, Word, Primavera
- Areas of Work: Project coordination, civil engineering for buildings, power plants, drainage/irrigation systems, pipelines, sewers, water control systems, bridges, and overpasses
- Specialization: Structural engineering, construction design and supervision, water resources, environmental protection
