Qualifications Required:

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to less than 2 years

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
  • Analyze operating costs and other data
  • Instruct cooks in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for banquets and events
  • Supervise cooks and kitchen staff (5–10 people)
  • Prepare and cook meals regularly or for special guests/functions
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
