Qualifications Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience: 2 to less than 3 years
- Credentials: Tracheostomy care training, ACLS, BCLS, CPR, First Aid, Eligible/licensed as a Registered Nurse in Canada
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist health care practitioners during examinations or treatments
- Assist in surgery
- Monitor patients and report changes to physicians
- Assess patients and identify nursing interventions
- Conduct disease screening and deliver immunization programs
- Provide nursing care and administer prescribed medications/treatments
- Operate and monitor medical equipment
- Deliver health education programs and engage in community program development
- Perform administrative tasks
Working Conditions:
- Hospital, clinic, nursing home, physician’s office, retirement home, or community health centre
- Fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling
