Qualifications Required:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- Experience: 3 to less than 5 years
- Credentials:
- AZ class license
- DZ class license
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
- Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide professional customer service while driving
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Load and unload goods safely
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Inspect vehicle condition (tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, etc.)
- Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- Conduct preventive maintenance
- Relay information to central dispatch
- Tarp and secure cargo for safety
Experience and Specialization:
- Documentation knowledge: accident/incident reports, bills of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports, maintenance reports, trip reports
- Equipment: dump truck, flatbed, tractor-trailer
- Transportation: local and short-haul routes
Working Conditions:
- On-site work only, no remote option
- Physically demanding, handling loads up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- Large workload, repetitive tasks, sitting for extended periods
- Drive manual transmission vehicles
- Own tools/equipment required: cellular phone, steel-toed safety boots
- Driving record check required
- Willingness to travel for extended periods
