Qualifications Required:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan or adjust routes using GPS and navigation tools to reduce fuel use and emissions
- Provide professional customer service
- Arrange travel itineraries and make reservations
- Load and unload goods
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks
- Inspect vehicle condition including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage
- Perform brake adjustments and preventive maintenance
- Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- Relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption
- Tarp and secure cargo
