Qualifications Required:
- Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
- Experience: 5 years or more
Job Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials
- Measure weight for rigging and hoisting
- Perform pre-operational inspections
- Instruct apprentices
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete and asphalt
- Assist in pipeline construction, drilling, blasting, and framing
- Level earth and operate cranes
- Pave and rake asphalt
- Demolish buildings and clean salvaged materials
- Perform routine maintenance and clean chemical spills
- Remove debris and operate construction equipment
- Direct traffic and prepare flooring plans
- Supervise drywall installers and finishers
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Outdoors, at heights, underground, confined spaces, noisy, dusty, hot
- Physically demanding with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks
- Heavy load handling (up to and over 100 lbs)
- Requires steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety vest, and cellular phone
