Qualifications Required:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
- License: DZ class license
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan or adjust routes using GPS and navigation devices to reduce fuel consumption and emissions
- Coach team members on techniques and best practices
- Deliver professional customer service
- Load and unload goods
- Drive and operate straight or articulated trucks
- Inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and related equipment
- Perform brake adjustments and preventive maintenance
- Complete pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- Communicate with dispatch
- Record data on cargo, service hours, mileage and fuel usage
- Secure cargo with tarping for safety and security
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Wet/damp, noisy, odorous, hot, and cold/refrigerated
- Locations: Various
- Requires manual transmission driving
- Vehicle supplied by employer
