Qualifications Required:

  • Education: Secondary school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Experience an asset
  • Licences: AZ Class Licence with Air Brakes Endorsement

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials locally and long-haul
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections; monitor vehicle condition, tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and equipment
  • Load, unload, tarp, and secure cargo; handle payments and documentation (bills of lading, logbooks, inspection reports)
  • Arrange travel itineraries and reservations; drive in two-person team or convoy as required
  • Receive and relay information to dispatch; record cargo data, hours of service, distances, and fuel consumption
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental best practices

Working Conditions:

  • Physically demanding; handling heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs); prolonged sitting; repetitive tasks
  • Large workload with overtime; travel for extended periods and overnight stays
  • Outdoors driving environment; use of employer-supplied GPS, cellular phone, hard hat, and steel-toed boots
