Job Details:

Qualifications Needed:

  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: Experience is an asset but not mandatory

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.

Credentials:

  • Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses:
    • AZ class license
    • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement

Experience and Specialization:

  • Knowledge of documentation including accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, and inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip).
  • Experience with types of trucking and equipment:
    • Flatbed
    • Tractor-trailer
    • Tractor-trailer B train

Work Conditions:

  • Security and Safety:
    • Driver’s validity license check
    • Driving record check (abstract)
  • Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding role, requiring prolonged sitting.
  • Must have own tools/equipment: cellular phone and steel-toed safety boots.
