Qualifications
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months
Job Responsibilities
- Interpret welding process specifications
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated welding equipment
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
- Examine welds to ensure they meet standards and specifications
- Operate flame-cutting, metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
- Perform computer-aided design (CAD) tasks
- Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
- Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), and other welding machinery
- Determine material weldability
- Use hoisting and lifting equipment
- Start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
