Required Qualifications:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
Job Responsibilities:
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
- Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
- Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
- Apply successive coats of compound, sand seams and joints, and smooth out excess compound
- Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound
- Tape over joints and embed tape in compound
- Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster
- Finish corners, angles, and create decorative designs in finish coat if required
- Cut and install metal corner beads, fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids
- Install acoustic tile, hangers, metal studs, and wire mesh
- Clean and prepare surfaces, repair and finish as needed
- Erect and install scaffolding or other working platforms
- Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
