Required Qualifications:
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
- Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
- Certificates: Ironworker (Generalist) Red Seal Certificate, Welder Trade Certification, Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
Job Responsibilities:
- Estimate costs and materials
- Recruit, hire, and train workers
- Manage and oversee company operations
- Set up machines and equipment
- Supervise workers and projects
- Operate and monitor robotic welding production lines
- Read and interpret welding blueprints and specifications
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated welding equipment
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding equipment
- Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
- Determine weldability of materials
- Examine welds to meet standards and specifications
Experience and Specialization:
- Materials: Steel, iron, and heavy metals
- Industry: Metal products manufacturing
Working Conditions:
- Dusty, noisy, dirty, outdoors, industrial urban area
- Attention to detail, tight deadlines, work under pressure
- Must have own safety glasses/goggles and steel-toed safety boots
- Valid driver’s licence required
- Criminal record check required
