Job Details

  • Location: 105 St. Paul Street, Alexandria, ON K0C 1A0
  • Salary: $32.00 to $37.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 12 to 32 hours per week
  • Type of Employment: Permanent, Part-time leading to Full-time
  • Hours of Work: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Early Morning, Morning
  • Start Date: As soon as possible

Qualifications Needed

  • Education: College/CEGEP
  • Experience: Experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications
  • Clean and sterilize operating room and instruments
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care
  • Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
  • Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families
  • Deliver nursing services within the defined scope of practice based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
  • Monitor patients’ progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate healthcare team members
  • Provide personal care and companionship
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Launder clothing and household linens
  • Collect specimens
  • Administer bedside and personal care
  • Change non-sterile dressings
  • Assist in regular exercise (e.g., walking)
  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Non-smoking, rural area, retirement home
  • Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment; ability to work under pressure; combination of sitting, standing, walking; bending, crouching, kneeling; weight handling up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, judgment, organization, reliability, team player, and punctuality
